Weddings are the perfect occasion to commission a special gift for a very special couple; a keepsake to be passed down to future generations.  Such was the wedding album at left.

I used rich silks, delicate fabrics and antique lace in pastels to create this beautiful wedding photo album for a very special young woman. The smocking on the lower left front panel was from a dress made for her by her mother when she was a child.  The patch of white satin was from the train of her wedding gown.

The names of the bride and groom are stitched in fine twisted silk by Grandeur on a circle of peau-de-soie and framed by representations of the flowers that I used in their altar flowers.   This was my special wedding gift to a very special bride and groom.
This gorgeous baptismal pillow (right) was commissioned by a young woman for her friend's first baby (a boy), so I used muted blues, greens and taupes in the color scheme.  The crazy quilt patches are denim, antique cotton and tapestry overlaid with embroidery and silk ribbon flowers.  The child's name is hand embroidered onto an oval of ivory silk Peau-de-Soie and framed with more embroidery and silk ribbon flowers.  The whole design is lavishly framed with handmade antique lace.  The pillow is backed with silk taffeta.

This is one very special gift certain to become a family heirloom.
The exquisite antique satin clutch at left was created for a mother-of-the-bride to match her lavender suit for her daughter's wedding.  I used a sumptuous antique satin with graduated purples to pinks for the body of the purse. Three Victorian cabbage roses in a bouquet grace the front panel. They are embellished with beads, more silk ribbon and couched twisted silks. This is one very special little bag!
The ring bearer's pillow (right) was created for my dear niece Molly Leedom on the occasion of her wedding  to William Grider August 21, 2013.  The brilliant purple and orange color scheme were hers, chosen to compliment her bridal colors.  I used antique laces and antique buttons to give it an old world feel.  The bottom was finished with twisted silk and a fancy purple tassel.  This is a contemporary ring bearer's pillow for a modern young bride!
This lovely ring bearer's pillow( left) was created for the wedding of Jennifer Debardeleben.  Jennifer served as my work study student at Columbia Theological Seminary where I worked and she was a seminary student.

A center nosegay with silk ribbon roses and the lavish use of antique lace made this a very special and now cherished gift.
